An Air India plane has crashed with 191 passengers on board, killing at least two people, including the pilot.
The plane was travelling from Dubai to Calicut, also known as Kozhikode, in Kerala, India, when it crashed near the runway.
It reportedly skidded off the runway at Calicut International Airport and plunged into a valley.
At least 40 passengers are so far believed to be injured, according to early reports.
Firefighters and ambulances have rushed to the scene, with paramedics ferrying the injured to local hospitals.
Rajeev Jain, additional director general at the Ministry of Civil Aviation, said: „Air India Express flight IX 1344 (Boeing 737 aircraft) from Dubai to Calicut overshot runway at Kozhikode at 1941 hrs Friday night.
